Kyma Technologies is a rapidly growing small company located in the Research Triangle Area of North Carolina. The company roots are in the growth and fabrication of crystalline bulk and thin film nitride semiconductor materials. The company's growing product offering includes materials, equipment, devices, and sensors, as well as a growing number of services.
Kyma's patented and proprietary plasma vapor deposition of nanocolumns (PVDNC™) technology is used to produce thin AlN layers on sapphire and silicon wafers, which our customers use to improve the cost and performance of LEDs and power electronic devices. Kyma's patented and proprietary hydride vapor phase epitaxy (HVPE) technology enables production of crystalline bulk and thin film GaN materials, which are used to support further improvements in the cost and performance of a number of optoelectronic and electronic devices. Kyma's KO-Switch™ is a high speed high power GaN based photoconductive switch that is available in vertical devices made from Kyma's bulk GaN and lateral device made from Kyma's GaN on sapphire templates. A new material offering is that of high quality homoepitaxial Ga2O3 epiwafers. Additionally, Kyma has added an innovative electromagnetic sensor to its product line and is in the process of broadening its materials growth capabilities to include crystalline 2D materials including graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides (TMD) such as MoS2 and WS2.
